Out side my window
Dark and dreary
Nothing stirs
But the wind.
No birds on the feeder
No birds in the bath
No birds in the air
Just the wind.
Branches sway
Leaves tumble
Whistling can be heard
Thanks to the wind.
Clouds skitter by
Wispy little ghosts
Moving ever so quickly
On the tails of the wind.
Tomorrow a new day will break
The sun will come out
The birds will sing, eat and bath
Accompanied by the wind.
ah we can def hope tomorrow the weather is better...its a wet and grey day here...rained since well yesterday...ha...no birds...and hopefully a lighter wind....
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing quite like birds feeding, singing to greet each new day. This is a little ray of hope.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness we have tomorrow to look forward to when we see dreariness outdoors. Change, as far as weather goes, is definitely good!
ReplyDeleteI agree that it feels sad and empty when the birds have all gone! We'll be glad when those days are behind us.
ReplyDeleteI've often wondered where the birds go...
ReplyDeleteit is a sad day when not even the birds wanna come out and sing... we had rain and grey as well today...
ReplyDeleteA windy day when no birds are there.. Lovely use of the word wind repeated..
ReplyDeleteThere is always the promise of tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how something as small as a bird can make such a difference in a day?
ReplyDeletesome days are just drearier than others...but one dreary day can't last forever. :)

I like the repetition of wind in this piece...moves the poem along quite nicely.
Very nice piece, and yes you are so right. Sometimes out the window we see hope for a better day tomorrow. Thanks for joining us at the Pub.
ReplyDeleteahh..the wind, be it strong or ever so soft, it is a big component of what we see outside our windows...only it's not in the view...we can only feel and hear it...good write!
