I'll Be Back

I'll Be Back

He goes to help
He says he'll be fine
He trained you see
I'll be back soon
Then we'll be free.

A knock on the door
A lump in my throat
I can barely breath
I open the door
The Army Chaplains are all I see!

  1. Oh this brought tears to my eyes. It's an all-too-frequent occurence, sadly. My own father was killed in WWII. I never knew him.

    1. Thank you. I haven't lost a loved one to war. But to think of those we have lost as a whole is so disheartening!

  4. That's the knock on the door that all service families dread. No amount of training will stop a bullet or bomb from being lethal.
