Harmony

The blue jay so resplendent
In shiny white and blue

The cardinal, glowing vibrant
Clothed in red and black

The small Chickadee, so shy
Dressed in black and white

Harmony!

Beachy Sandy Feet

Running to the waters edge
Hot sandy feet
Waves splash coolly
Fish nibble tickley
Cool sand comforts
Standing gazing
Not wanting to leave.

No chair to sit in
Sun is glaring
Crabs are biting
Feet are cold and wet
No towels, no shoes
Sand sucking at our feet
Need to leave.

My Eye

My eye
Do you see?

The things of life around me.

Assaulting the senses

A kaleidoscope of input
So much so

That I need TWO eyes to see it all.

New Horizons

Cold and dark
So far from home
Will I ever feel the sun again?

The end has happened
But you cannot see
The heavens obscure the horror.

Onward though to a new beginning
Starting over, ever so sure.
Leave the hate, bring the love.

No monsters, only us
Beings...human, alien and more
Together forever bound.

Trees 01182014

(note- tried to overlay some gnarled trees in the pic.....the poem that is italicized goes with the gnarled trees)

Trees in my yard
Front and back

     Gnarled trunks
     Spindly branches

Leafy and green
Never out of whack

     Reaching to the sky
    Hidden in the dark

Shady in the summer
When the sun shines bright

     Black and grey
     Often ignored

Bare in the winter
When the cold winds bite

    No protection given
    No protection gained

Home to the birds
Home to the squirrels

     Destined to be lonely
     Never to be seen

Safe and sound
When the wind swirls

     Bent and curled
    Grasping at the earth

Standing straight
Roots deep in the earth

    Bent and twisted
    Never royalty to be

Majestic trunks
With large round girths

     Saddness and sorrow
     Flows from the heart

Happiness over flows
When looking at the trees

So glad they can't be seen
So glad to just melt away

So sad for those
Who can't see the trees.

Glorious Morn - 30 words

Icy cold breath
sweeps across the land

All is hushed
anticipation swells

The light shines
clouds swirl in

The mountain shines
emerging from the mist

Glorious Morn is upon us

Black

Black

Nothing to See

Black

Cold to touch

Black

Void of feeling

Black

The unknown

Black

Opposite of white

Black

Mix it up - grey

Black

At the bottom, looking up

Black

Move into the light

White

Home

Matrix

A matrix is like life.

If I turn right, will I be right
Or if I turn left will I be right
Or if I turn right will I be wrong
And if I turn left will I be right?

Or are both directions wrong for me
Or are both directions right for me.

And if I have a friend along,
If I turn right, and he turns left,
Who will be right and who will be wrong,
Or if we both turn right or we both turn left,
Again what will the out come be.

No one will know until they play the game.
And in the Dance of Life game with our friends and ourselves

A matrix is formed.

***note****was helping my son who is in college visualize a matrix in words and this is what I came up with....

Grimace

Grimace

Smile on vacation
Returning to late to help
To right a sad wrong.

Out My WIndow

Out side my window
Dark and dreary
Nothing stirs
But the wind.

No birds on the feeder
No birds in the bath
No birds in the air
Just the wind.

Branches sway
Leaves tumble
Whistling can be heard
Thanks to the wind.

Clouds skitter by
Wispy little ghosts
Moving ever so quickly
On the tails of the wind.

Tomorrow a new day will break
The sun will come out
The birds will sing, eat and bath
Accompanied by the wind.
